THERE was a problem with BBC America’s Hit Show KILLING EVE and most people didn’t really see it except we did. I write a lot of scripts, I read a lot of scripts, I work with actors all the time –

I have never actually watched a show that had 4 different showrunner/writers over the course of a series. THAT was the problem with THIS SHOW. The first season was written entirely by PHOEBE WALLER-BRIDGE – it was as near to perfect as writing can get and then the follow season followed right on the heels of the 1st but was NOT as riveting. It got off to a good start but what the hell was that 2nd episode where Villanelle gets caught in a time warp of Jodie Comer’s past movie where she was a kidnapped kid raised and raped by her abuser rapist- the movie THIRTEEN. JULIAN and his demented mother were funny but this should never have been in that series. I still, to this day, why the head producers didn’t just ditch that episode.

In the 3rd season they kill of KENNY? I felt like I was watching an episode of #SOUTHPARK.
FUN FACT FROM SOUTHPARK: Kenny has died 126 times in the South Park franchise (98 in the series, 12 in the shorts, 14 in the video games, and twice in the movie). He also dies in the intro during season 7-11.
However, Kenny Stowton  in Killing Eve dying was unnecessary and he was a fan favorite. That showrunner, Suzanne Heathcote, had some experience writing American TV for THE WALKING DEAD but she was sneaky to imply that Kenny had a thing for black girls. We saw that in Season 1 with Elena Felton who later quit the team for fear of her own life. Not sure if the actress regrets passing on the other 3 seasons but in truth her character was not in the book.

Season 4 – started out badly – in REAL LIFE RUSSIA had invaded the Ukraine and right in the beginning of KILLING EVE SEASON 4 – THE LAST SEASON – THE WORD “RUSSIA” APPEARS ON THE SCREEN WITH VILLANELLE’S HANDLER is seen happily walking down his job hallway – new mayor of some town in Russia. It was at this point we turned off the TV. However we did watch it later and frankly they shouldn’t have bothered because most of that season was dreck except for the actors who plowed through the material with expertise.

The last straw, at least for us, was KILLING OFF VILLANELLE in the last 5 minutes of the entire series. LAURA NEAL who will forever be the enemy of KE fans everywhere thought that killing off the antagonist would give the entire series meaning and give the protagonist – EVE a reason to carry on as she broke through the water’s surface reborn.

NOTE TO LAURA NEAL- IF YOU THINK ANY LESBIAN IN HER RIGHT MIND WOULD THINK THIS FUCKING END YOU SCREWED UP WAS A REBIRTH – YOU ARE SO WRONG.

IF VILLANELLE WAS MY GIRLFRIEND, MY WIFE, SOMEONE I LOVED WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL AND COULDN’T LIVE WITHOUT – I WOULD BREAK OUT OF THE THAMES & INTO M16 HEADQUARTERS LOOKING FOR THAT LOWLIFE MURDERER CAROLYN AND TAKE HER DOWN. I WOULD NOT REST AND NEITHER WILL EVE.

Yeah I feel better now. The book ending is a new beginning for EVE & V. Here’s our song on youtube to commemorate what I wrote about Laura Neal’s version of KE – Season 4 – and also one more thing – THE PISS KISS was done in one take and I truly believe in my heart and soul that both Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer love each other deeply. Oh said “we are deeply bonded” – the joke here is “did they ever practice that kiss?”

Lastly, Comer herself recently was asked about how she felt about the ending and she said “I think Villanelle isn’t dead and she crawled out of the Thames to live another day” – I paraphrase but honestly I don’t think she nor Sandra liked the ending but they signed a NDA for the filming so most of us like thinking V and E are somewhere in Alaska eating Shepherd’s Pie.
